Mosaic Mural Project
February 2009
I worked with a group of 15 eighth graders and they created this mosaic mural. They each did individual monochromatic paintings depicting the past, present and future of their communities- their city, school, neighborhood, or family. They painted scenes representing their hopes for the future and memories of the past.

HURRICANE KATRINA MISSION TRIP
|
Beach Mural for Hurricane Katrina Victims
November 2008
This mural was painted while on a mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi to help with Hurricane Katrina Relief. This is the back of a family's house. The family lives just a few miles from the Gulf Coast and their home has been undergoing many repairs by volunteer teams since the hurricane struck in 2005. Shortly after Katrina hit, this family lost their 4-year old grandson. The homeowners (the grandparents) asked me to memorialize him in this mural. The little boy loved boats, and so he is pictured in a little boat with his initials on it, sailing into the sunset.
COSTA RICA MISSION TRIP

The Methodist School- Biblical Murals and Art Lessons
On a mission trip to Costa Rica, I spent a week at the Methodist School in Quesada leading art classes centered around Bible stories and helping the students create two wall murals. About 60 students between the ages of 5 and 12 participated throughout the week. The scenes shown are Noah's Ark and The Garden of Eden.
